Remnants is an ongoing project primarily focussed on votive-like craft. The works seek to reconsider fragmented historical, mythological and biological information, bringing what is in the dark, to light. Taboos enter into the physical world, but the works reject classical preservation in likeness to the lack of archeological information of women's (non-fixed definition) activities in the past.
Made from ordinary materials such as natural fabric scraps, soil, raw wools, and species specific vegetation. Intimate care is given for meaning in each work and how it connects to the materials being used.
Some of these remnants hold secrets within. After the work is completed they are re-opened with a surgical process, secrets are deposited in the cavities, and hastily re-stitched for safe keeping, veiling new visions, wishes and desires.
